Song “John” Chol Yun Lansing

Age 44, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at home surrounded by his loved ones. John was born June 14, 1969 in Janghang, South Korea to Sok and Chong Yun. In 1976, his family immigrated to the United States, settling in Charlotte, MI. John proudly became a US citizen on June 14, 2006. John graduated from Charlotte High School in 1988, and went on to earn a BA in Finance from Michigan State University. During his career as a financial advisor, he was employed by Merrill Lynch and most recently Morgan Stanley. On December 15, 2008 John married Guangshi Wen becoming a dedicated husband and proud father. He loved spending time with his family and friends enjoying the simple pleasures of life. John is preceded in death by his grandparents and younger brother. He is survived by his wife Guangshi Wen Yun; daughter, Oak Jung Piao; parents, Sok and Chong Yun; brothers, Song Min "Matthew" (Nikole) Yun and Song "Sean" U (Kathryn) Yun; niece Isabella, and nephews, Anthony, Ethan, and Joey. Come join us in celebration of John's life at Gorsline Runciman, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing, on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Family and friends will be received at 12:00 pm with service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Okemos, MI.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John’s memory to The Smile Train, 41 Madison Ave., 28th Floor, New York, NY 10010 or the American Cancer Society, 1755 Abbey Rd. East Lansing, MI 48823. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.greastlansing.com.
