Dorothy L Phelps

Dorothy L. Phelps, 85, of Creve Coeur, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at Reflections Memory Care in Washington, IL.

She was born August 19, 1932 in Clay City, IL to Orville and Lillian (Bakel) Hardy. She married Carl Stewart June 9, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1970. She later married Elmer Phelps on September 3, 1972 in Creve Coeur, he preceded her in death in 1992. Her parents, and two daughters, Laura and Sandra Stewart also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her three children, Randy (Bonnie) Stewart of Saybrook, Dan (Donna) Stewart of East Peoria, and Melinda (Jack Sydney) Ledbetter of East Peoria; one sister Rosemarie (Wilbur) Wills of Indianapolis, IN; five step children, Greg (Cheryl) Phelps of Glasford, Barbara Tribe of East Peoria, Doug (Peg) Phelps of Spokane, WA., Clayton Phelps of Glasford and Lenord Phelps of East Peoria; eight grandchildren, several step grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Dorothy was a member of the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ in Creve Coeur. She loved watching auto racing, listening to country music and most of all, eating ice cream.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. A funeral service will be Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 10:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor Dwight Winnett will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
