Bette Jean Bush

Born in East Stroudsburg on July 15, 1951 she was a daughter to the late Ronald P. and Lula Kathryn (Getz) LeBar and was a lifelong resident of Monroe County. Bette graduated from Stroudsburg High School class of 1969. She acquired a position as clerk and bookkeeper for Edward G. Lawson of Stroudsburg and for the past 26 years she was currently employed as a secretary for Abeloff Auto Sales, Stroudsburg.

Bette was a life member of the CLU Club in East Stroudsburg, The Women’s Axillary of the American Legion, Stroudsburg, where she enjoyed playing Shuffle board. She was also a member of the Monday night women’s bowling league at Colonial Lanes, in Stroudsburg. Bette volunteered at the YMCA for the Softball youth group, in Stroudsburg. She was a Philadelphia Eagles fan and a NASCAR Fan. Her favorite driver was Kevin Harvick. Bette had a huge sense of compassion and took joy in volunteering and helping others. One of Bette’s most preciouses’ joys in life was spending Sunday morning with her mother at ShopRite.

Surviving is her loving husband of 21 years Steve L. Bush of Stroudsburg, sister, Lynda Miller and her husband Russell of Stroudsburg; brother, Robert LeBar and his wife Joanne of Stroudsburg; several nieces and nephews and many loving friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 19, 2012 in the Lanterman &Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street East Stroudsburg with Rev. Todd Glasmire Pastor of the Neola United Methodist Church, Neola Road, Stroudsburg at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow in the Devotion section of Prospect Cemetery, Prospect Street, East Stroudsburg.

A public viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday September 19, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
