Although I met your mother only a couple of times, I felt I knew her better because of Anna's speaking of her so often to me, and her warm smile and vivacious conversation when I was with her. I am sorry she is gone, and convey my warm sympathies to you.

Dear Anna, Ursula and Family,
I was saddened to hear the passing of your mom. I loved Ann very much. I loved her like my grandmother. She had the most beautiful voice. I always loved to hear her sing. She will be missed by all who knew her. My deepest sympathy and love to all. May you find peace and comfort during this time.

I was very sad to hear of the passing of Anne. She was more than a neighbour to me, more than a close friend even, someone that has greatly influenced my life. Anne was an extraordinary person that I am grateful to have met. Her warm kitchen, her garden, her intelligence and wisdom... memories that I cherish.

We were surprised and very sad to learn that Anne has left this world. Without her loving work and kind energies in bringing Ella, Jan and Jurgen from Germany, and giving them their first Canadian home, our little corner of the Vriesen family would not exist as it does. May Anne rest peacefully now that she is freed from pain, and her memory be eternal. She made me feel happy and secure back when I was a new bride, a new mother and a new resident in Canada.

Her bright smile and wonderful stories will be missed!

Dear Anna, Ursula, Barb, and Eric, we are sad to learn of your mother's passing. I first met your father when he brought Eric and Barbara to the family farm in Ontario to visit with Leoni von Hauff. His journey out of Germany had ties to the von Hauff family. When we moved to Edmonton, your father was a frequent visitor to our home, often with the ice fishing catch of the day! On the flip side, I was a frequent visitor to your mother. She provided me with nurturing and warmth, and valuable guidance on being a mother. She saw us go from four babies to seven grown children, most of them remembering visits to Anna's kitchen! Your parents enriched our lives in too many ways to capture in words. We are so thankful for them being part of our family over so many decades.

Dear Ursula and family;
Just a quick note to tell you that I send my condolences and prayers to you for your mother's passing. I can vaguely remember meeting her in your house on 84th avenue. We both have older mothers that we have cared for over many years. My mother is now 94 years and very frail but very bright in memory if not in personality. Thinking of you at this time, Jeff Allen

Dear Altmann children,
My memories of Anne will always warm a part of my heart. I felt her warmth and kindness as a child next door and loved chatting over the fence. I was thrilled each spring when Anne would sit by the side of the garage on the bench in her swim suit. It meant summer was coming! As a young mother I followed her example of ironing outside while my babies played. As long as I was ironing this was where I did it. Just a few years ago my brothers and sisters and I visited Anne. Even with the limitations of age she was her same gracious self. I will always treasure her memory and those of you children.
Please accept my love and prayers in your behalf.

Dear Altmann family,
I have wonderful memories of your mother and her cheerful happy ways. I would look forward to her greetings when I came home from college or we'd just happened to see each other in the back yards. My mom loved Anne too. She will always hold a special place in the hearts of the Ure children.
