Maria Dela Cruz Geneblazo

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Geneblazo on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the age of 71. A loving wife, beloved mother and grandmother (Lola).

Maria will be forever missed by her husband, Ireneo (Ino) Geneblazo; her son, Jeip and daughter Irma. As well as her cherished grandchildren Jahlayna, Jerykah, Evan and Ellias.

She will also be fondly remembered by her two living sisters: Catalina & Rosalia, her loving nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones. As well as extended family and friends in Canada and Philippines, including people who became part of her life.

Maria was born in Pandi, Bulacan, Phillipines on March 25, 1952. She is predeceased by her parents: Rosa Reyes and Ismael DelaCruz; 2 Brothers: Dioniso & Martin; and 2 sisters: Carmen & Virginia.

She was of a strong willed character of a woman, with a deep Catholic faith. Brave, positive, survivor of a life threatening illness, assertive yet compassionate, kindhearted and unsparingly generous. A caring mother, grandmother (Lola) and loving dedicated wife... The family was always the focal point of her life and she loved us beyond measure. We were blessed to have her with us well into her golden-plus years.

There will be a Visitation and Prayer Service to be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Hainstocks Funeral Home, 9810-34 Avenue Edmonton.

A Funeral Mass, officiated by Reverend Patrick Baska, will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the St. Theresa Catholic Church, 7508 - 29 Avenue, Edmonton, with interment to follow at Glenwood Funeral Home & Cemetery, 52356 Range Rd 232, Sherwood Park.
