She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Robert Marion Loventhal and her brothers Ishmael Ferry, Donald Berkebile and sister Virginia Dare Thomas. Bernadette graduated from Burbank vocational high school in 1941 with honors and was awarded a scholarship to Southern Methodist University but was unable to attend due to the war. She worked for an insurance company in San Antonio until she met and married her husband Robert who was stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. They were married November 2, 1945 and moved to El Dorado, AR to make their home and raise their children Robert Davis Loventhal and Patricia Loventhal Hogue. She enjoyed many local activities and was an active member of the First Baptist Church. She served many volunteer hours as a pink lady at local hospitals.
After the death of her husband she moved to Dallas, TX to live with daughter Patricia and her three children Kathryn, Stephanie and Sara. In 2008 in failing health she moved to an assisted living facility in DeSoto, TX where she made many friends and enjoyed the activities offered there. After her last hospital stay, she returned home under hospice care and passed peacefully a few day later.
She is also survived by son Robert and wife Katie, grandaugther Tammy White, grandson Robby Loventhal, six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and their children.
