Sarah enjoyed life to the fullest and her entire life was devoted to God and her family. She was a lifelong homemaker, loving wife, mother and “Mamaw” to just about everyone she knew. She took great pride in her home and her grandchildren, whom she loved very much. She was a member of Liberty Church.
Preceding her in death was her husband, John Murphy Barker, Sr.; father, J.E. Rogers; mother, Mattie Rogers; brothers, Curtis Rogers, and Jim Buckner; and sisters, Rebecca Timberlake and Lillie Tibbitts.
Sarah is survived by her son, John Murphy Barker, Jr. of Rogers, AR; two grandsons, Timothy Wade Barker (Darlene) of Rogers, Thomas Brewster (Natalie) of El Dorado; two granddaughters, Julie Sams (Glenn), Crissy Brewster both of El Dorado; one great grandson, Harley Barker; four great granddaughters, Melody Sams, Ruthie Barker, Eliza and Sadie Brewster; niece and dearest friend, Tap McKin of Hot Springs; niece, Billie Myers (Nubbin) of El Dorado; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Barker of El Dorado.
She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at Liberty Church with Rev. Jim Bolding officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wade Barker, Harley Barker, Glenn Sams, David Hill, Thomas Brewster, and Brian Peachy.
