Tommy served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Associated in the petroleum transportation industry, he was in ownership or executive management for 50 years. Tommy was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for over 50 years, a member of the El Dorado Masonic Lodge #13, and he was a Shriner and Jester.
Preceding him in death are his parents, and an infant grandson.
Survivors include his loving wife Una Evelyn Boyle Blagg of El Dorado; three daughters, Margaret “MeMe” Evelyn King of Phoenix, AZ, Hollis Ann Matheney (Bart) of Austin, TX, Joy Ellen Matthews (Donald) of Bossier City, LA; sister, Jacquelyn Barfield, Winser, LA; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at Young’s.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 13, at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob Walker officiating. A reception will follow the services. There will be a private family burial under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Serving as pallbearers are Alex Matthews, James Matheney, Thomas Matheney, Ryan Miller, Mark Hawkins, and Zachary King. The honorary pallbearers are Tom Baumgardner, T. M. Byrd, Dennis Shackleford, Doyle Barentine, Will Vance, Gerald Cook, James Cook and the Builders Sunday School Class.
