Dionisio Guerra, age 89 of Sunland Park, NM passed away peacefully on January 31, 2020, at Providence Memorial Campus surrounded by his family, He was born August 12, 1930. Our father was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He moved to Cd. Juarez, Mexico when he was in his mid 20's. He met his wife in Cd. Juarez, Ofelia Baca and got married in November 1958. He was employed at Vidrio Commercial in Cd. Juarez as a Glazer. Then he was offered a job at El Paso Plate Glass in 1959 and moved to El Paso. From El Paso he moved to Sunland Park, NM where he lived for 55 years. He worked for El Paso Plate Glass for 25 years until it closed. Then Baker Glass offered him a job and retired from Baker Glass at the age of 65. A year later Baker Glass asked him to go back to work for them part-time.
Our father was a very hard worker, good provider for his wife and six kids. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting with his kids. He was always present at his kids sports activities. Never missed an event.
Survived by his wife Ofelia Guerra. Sons, Lorenzo Guerra (Sylvia), Dionisio Guerra, Leticia Guerra, Oscar Guerra (Elena), Alejandro Guerra (Aracely), Laura Lerma (Angel). He had thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Melquiades and Juana Guerra and sister Amparo Carrillo.
He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Providence Memorial Campus and Alora Hospice, for their generous and kind help. Also family and friends for their Prayers and support during these difficult times.
