For your service as a Nurse in El Paso,
for many years,
and for being the gentleman,
great family man,
husband,father,grand father
 and great grand father,and Uncle,that You were.

Your neighbor's,co workers,brothers,
and family and friends,
all respected you and your kindness
friendship,
humor,wisdom
 and good
company.

You lived a honest full respectful life,
 and enriched all,
who came to know you.

Friend to Veronica and neighbors.and a valued member of the community.He was a a loyal professional career soldier.He served honorably in combat zones Viet Nam.He worked as a Nurse for many years.

🌹On Wednesday February 3rd,
in the early evening,as the sun set🌅,
Joseph M Menendez,peacefully and comfortably left us here,
behind, his rich in experience and  well lived full long life journeys done,his tour of duty completed,a war time honorable veterans mission completed🙏.
A good man has left us,and we miss him already.
I had a dozen Aunts and Uncles,all nice,all special,in their own way,but to my heart,he was my favorite.

He was more of a friend ,more like a father,someone who always gave me good advice support and comfort and for that I'm very grateful.He was a friend to my late dad to.
He was born on October 30th in 1936,in Huntington ,a small town on Long Island N.Y.He had 3 brothers,Eddie,John,and Robert who is living in Carteret N.JHe lived in Manhattan and Far Rockaway.
In Nov. of 1956,he joined the U.S Army,completed basic training in Ft.Dix N.J then to San Antonio Tex. for advanced training as a medic.
He was driving his jeep on a rainy muddy day through a town in Germany when he heard a young lady yell out at him "Hey you should drive more carefully you got mud on my dress!"He thought it unusual to hear a Americans,as there were mostly German citizens in that town.He found out that beautiful woman named Helga,was from New York City.
In the spring of 1960 they got married.In Nov.1965 they were blessed with a son, Raymond in U.S Army Hospital Heidelberg,Germany.
During the Viet Nam War he served heroically,
In Feb 1974 little Susan joined the family.He served in Ft .Sill in Lawton O.k. 
In 1980,he retired to El Paso. Tex.He lived near his brother John in Horizon city.
He helped raise his niece Marie.He worked as a Nurse.He liked listening to the radio and t.v. He liked to travel,and was a good mechanic and handyman.In recent years he visited a cousin in Spain. He was 84,a good man and father,grand and great grandfather.He had a great sense of humor,could be sarcastic in a NY kind of way,always a class act.He had a presence and character.We loved him❤
