Jeffrey Allan Marshall, 60 of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Jan. 6, 2020. Jeff was born February 28, 1959 to Margaret Bird and Cletus Marshall Sr. in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. He moved to Grand Rapids, MI. when he was four and that is where he spent much of his life. He was raised with his older sister Susan Marshall Florip and his older brother Cletus Marshall Jr. He also had a younger brother Jerome King. He was a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.
Jeff will be fondly remembered by his friends, family and care giving team. He was known for his sense of humor and his love of the natural world around him. He also was an amazing uncle and loved all animals. He loved to give to his friends, family and charities like Feeding America. He enjoyed drawing and made dream catchers and jewelry.
Jeff went to a treatment center in Baraga, Michigan in 1996 and was given an eagle feather. That feather later passed through many hands and helped many people receive the gift of sobriety.
A Sacred Fire was held for Jeff and attended by his family and loved ones. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Kewadin.
A special thank you to the AdvisaCare Team for surrounding Jeff with support in his final hours and helping Jeff's family through his transition.
