Camille Faith Marx, aged 81, of Essex, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 5th, 2025, at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore after a long journey with illness.
Born on October 21, 1943, in Baltimore, Camille was the beloved daughter of the late Wm. Raymond Faith and Alice Faith (née Johnson). She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Anthony Z. Marx, and her brothers, Wm. Raymond Faith Jr. and John Paul Faith.
Camille’s early years were spent in Catonsville, before her family settled in Elkridge in 1950. A woman of deep intellect and faith, she was educated at St. Augustine Catholic School in Elkridge, the Institute of Notre Dame, and Mount Saint Agnes, and pursued higher studies at Loyola University. Her commitment to learning guided her into a meaningful career in education with Baltimore County Public Schools, where she served first as an elementary school teacher and later as a guidance counselor. She touched the lives of countless students, families, and colleagues over the years.
Camille’s life was marked by service and civic engagement. She was an active member of the Teachers Association of Baltimore County (TABCO) and the League of Women Voters, always believing in the power of education, dialogue, and community.
Her adventurous spirit led her to live in Guam and travel widely—experiences that enriched her worldview and brought her great joy. Camille was also an avid reader and loved turtles but above all, she treasured time spent with her family and close friends. Her gentle presence and warm heart were felt by all who knew her.
She held a special place in her heart for her loyal dachshunds, Harpo and Chico, who brought her endless comfort and companionship.
Camille is lovingly survived by her sister, Christine Mort; sisters-in-law Mary Ann Faith and Joyce Faith; and many nieces and nephews, including Michael Faith (Troi), Julia Jaspert (Julian), Allison Markey (Ricky), Lisa Faith, Rosemary Shawkey (Rick), Donna Giordano, Steven Novick (Maria), and Mark Novick (Tammy). She was also a proud great-aunt to many nieces and nephews and a treasured godmother.
A gathering to celebrate Camille’s life will be held at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075 on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Committal Service will follow at 11:30 am, Meadowridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Camille’s memory to the Maryland Food Bank (https://mdfoodbank.org) or to a charitable organization of your choice.
Camille’s grace, wisdom, and quiet strength will remain forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
