March 11, 1944 – September 9, 2019
Arthur James Hatfield, Jr., 75, of Englewood, Florida passed on September 9, 2019, with his wife Ethel and son John by his side. His passing was quick and merciful.
Arthur, better known as Jimmy, was the only son of Arthur James Hatfield, Sr. and his wife Elsie, who shared their love with his older sister Judith Hatfield-Wentworth. Married three times (twice to the same wife) Jimmy is survived by his wife Ethel and his children Virginia Porter, Saundra Jones, John James Hatfield, Pamela Hodges, Jamie Davenport, Jesse James Hatfield, and Anna Murphy.
Jimmy was the proud grandfather of Sydney Jones, John James Hatfield, Jr., Jonathan Lind, John and Dylan Simko, Jesse James Hatfield, Jr., Kaley Hatfield, Aidan Davenport, Billy and Hailey Hodges, James Galbraith, Alex and Evelyn Murphy.
Also the great-grandfather of Caleb and William Hatfield.
The best way to describe Jimmy was “unforgettable”. He left a lifelong impression on everyone he met, even if it was just a brief passing. Full of life and spirit, laughed whenever possible, goofed on as many people as possible, and spent every moment he could on the water. Boating, fishing, and family were his passions in life.
Before his passing, he asked for his remains to be thrown off the side of his boat so he could “feed the fishes”. He decided he’d been fishing for so long, that he owed it to the fish.
Of course we cannot honor those wishes, as we all fear jail time. Jimmy has been cremated, and his wishes were for his ashes to be sprinkled in the waters he loved so much. He believed he would be able to revisit the family at least twice a day when the tide came in.
Cremation services were provided by Lemon Bay Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Englewood, Florida. The family will celebrate his life during a small memorial service to be announced at a later date.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either The Valerie Fund, 2101 Millburn Avenue, #3719, Maplewood, NJ 07040, 973-751-0422 www.thevaleriefund.org or Shriners Hospital donate.lovetherescue.org

You may be gone but you will never be forgotten.... I will see you every time I see my eyes in the mirror... My Father's eyes looking back at me. I will remember you in every joke I tell because I definitely got your sense of humor. I thought we had more time Daddy... I wish I could say all the things I wanted to say. But until we meet again....I'll hear you in every sea shell telling me it's going to be ok and Ill look up and smile knowing that I'll always be your little girl.
