Aline Ruth (Waterman) Winnecke, 95, of Evansville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Bethel Manor, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. She was born on April 21, 1924 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Albert and Alma (Grimm) Waterman.
After graduating from Reitz High School in 1942, she worked at Servel until her marriage to Walter Winnecke in January, 1946.
Aline was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her flower garden and looked forward to getting together with her family on Sundays for dinner and playing cards. She devoted her life to her family and was a wonderful example of always generously giving of herself to them.
She was a life-long member of St. John’s United Church of Christ (Downtown) until it closed in June, 2015.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 69 years, Walter, her son Steven, and her parents.
Aline is survived by her daughter, Sharon Beck (Joe); son, Stanley; daughter-in-law, Pamela; grandchildren, Markus Winnecke (Christy), Shelley Tweedy (Craig), Ryan Beck (Jamie), Jennifer Staggs (Shawn); great grandchildren, Logan, Tyler and Bella Winnecke, Adalynn and Graden Beck, Loretta and Evan Tweedy, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Bethel Manor and MSA Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2019 at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery - Heritage Chapel officiated by Chaplain Mike Jones with entombment to follow. Friends may visit 1-4 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Alexander West Chapel and 10-11 a.m. Monday at the Cemetery Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethel Manor or MSA Hospice.
