I have known Darol since 1985 through his involvement with the KTVFD and the Investigors Assn. He was very particular at a fire scene as evidence protection was always a key factor.
He was always a key link in the state certified fire investigation courses.
RIP my friend and condolences to the family

Darol “Big D” was a major influence on me in the fire service. He taught me a lot through out the many years at Knight Township Fire Dept. I made many runs with Darol as he always drove us. I spent many hours at the fire department talking to Darol and learning from him. He definitely shaped who I am as a firefighter today. I will remember you always Big D.
