David was a Vietnam War Veteran (1969-1971). Born in Evansville, David spent much of his childhood and early teen years in California. An avid traveler, he visited family in Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia often; spent several weeks in Australia, a short time in Canada, and enjoyed visiting the Gulf Shores in Alabama. Some of his favorite pastimes included watching Nascar, cowboy movies and TV shows; taking fishing trips to Florida; working on cars and driving fast.
David was a born storyteller and a kid at heart. He loved to talk about his life and the people he met along the way. It was very rare that he didn’t have a grin across his face. He enjoyed good food and adored sharing meals with family and friends. David made friends everywhere he went including some of the restaurants around town he liked to frequent. He had a strong work ethic and his attention to detail was legendary. The discipline and dedication to service he learned from the Army never left him, as friends and family will attest.
