

He was born to Herman and Mae Gill in Evansville, IN on April 16, 1927.
He was ordained to the ministry in 1948 and pastored churches in Illinois and Kentucky. In Madisonville he pastored Park Ave. Baptist Church and also Grapevine Baptist Church where he was presently a member. He served on the Kentucky Baptist State Executive Board plus other state committees. He was a Kentucky Colonel and an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan.
He was married to his wife, Jean, for 64 years and had three children; Debi (Bill) Vance of Goodlettsville, TN; Mark (Debbie) Gill of Grand Rivers, KY and Joy McGill of Leesburg, GA; five grandchildren, Casey Vance; Cathy (John) Windham; Evan Faulk; Shana Gill and Brendan Gill; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:30 A.M. Wednesday at Grapevine Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the Grapevine Baptist Church with Pastors Greg Gaddis and Jeff Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Alexander Memorial Park in Evansville, IN.
Pallbearers will be Evan Faulk, John Windham, Brendan Gill, Clay Davis, Mark Boggs and Anthony Wilson.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations can be made to the Grapevine Baptist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
