She worked for Alcoa for over 40 years. She started in the mid-70s in the Pot room and later made her way to Warrick Power Plant. Margaret was a hard worker when it came to her job; always working extra, sometimes double shifts still at her age. Work was what kept her going. Her manager and coworkers knew that she was a dependable person. She built a great rapport with just about all of her coworkers.
Margaret was a member of Bread of Life Kingdom Ministries since 1985 (formerly Progressive Holy Temple). She was a faithful servant, a tither, served on the hospitality committee for several years, and was the Sunday School Superintendent for approximately 10 years. She became close friends to these lovely ladies, Sharis Goines, Angela Watson, Geneve McGuire, and Christine Johnson, Diane Julius, who were her travel buddies on a few adventures.
She enjoyed traveling. Her favorite type of travel was her cruises. In her travels, she often would take her grandkids. They shared many memorable trips to Florida; the last being to Disney world about 5 years ago. Ohhh the stories the kids would come back with!
Margaret was the mold, the concrete and the iron rod to our family. She was an original. She was set in her own stubborn ways; but she is who God Wonderfully made. Although she wasn't much for the social scene, she preferred her personal time alone as much as possible. She showed her love more in a giving manner than emotional. She made sure her family was taken care of in spite of their downfalls. She may fuss about our life situations at times...wait, that was all the time but we all love her and are beyond thankful for all she did for us. You are going to be beyond missed.
Margaret was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Mansfield, Jr., Charles Mansfield, Ronnie Mansfield, and Laura Etta Rudd; and her grandson, Qeion, Brockers.
She is survived by her sister, Hallie Bowden; daughter, Monyette Kirksey; son, Charles Kirksey (Betty); grandchildren, Andreise Gathings, Marchey Kirksey, Terrence Kirksey, Hayden Current, Gabrielle McDonald and Jamesce Packer; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
