He retired from Bristol Myers/Mead Johnson. Marvin was a member of St. James Parrish, the St. James Men’s Club and Knights of St. John 345 in Haubstadt, where he was a Knight of the Year. He was an avid fisherman, coached basketball, enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals and the Christmas season was one of his favorite times of the year.
Marvin was preceded in death by brother, Melvin Kissel, and sisters, Irma Jean Woolston and Delores Waelde.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Sturges) Kissel; brothers, Albert Kissel (Sharon) and Kenneth Kissel (Betty); caregivers, Phil Sturges, Jr.(Angie), Steven Sturges (Cherie) and Barry Sturges (Diana), and many other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Good Samaritan Home for their care and kindness.
A Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 16, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, officiated by Fr. Ken Betz, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Alexander North Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. James Catholic Church.
