Reginald "Reggie" D. Champlain

Reggie was proud to be a US Marine and serve in the Korea War. He belonged to D Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Division and was the last surviving member of his gunner unit. He retired from SIGECO after 37 years. Reggie’s hobbies included, traveling, building and fixing things and taking care of those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Julia Marie (Maurer) Champlain; parents, Earl and Beatrice Champlain; daughter, Regena Lee Champlain; brother, Earl Champlain; brothers-in-law, Thomas Hillenbrand and Paul Kroeger; nephew Jason A. Hillenbrand.

Reginald is survived by his daughter, Michele M. Scott (Jeff); grandchildren, Amanda Marie Shelby (Daniel), Alicia Kay Scott- Aune (Joshua); great grandchildren, Julia, Edwin and Augusta Shelby; brother, Dennis W. Champlain (Barbara); sisters-in-law, Dorothy Kroeger, Joyce Hillenbrand and Guylene Maurer; niece and nephews.

A prayer service will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Father Ted Tempel. Friends may visit 2-7 p.m. Thursday April 25, 2019 at the funeral home.
