Dearest Family of Evelyn,

It was with great sadness that I learned of Evelyn's passing. I have so many fond memories of 4-H classes and meetings at your family home in Antelope. Whenever I reflect back on the many classes I took, and meetings I attended, at "Mr. & Mrs. Ackeret's" I always smile. I think about "hanging out" with Frances, Roy, and "Littly Kenny" after the meetings and classes and, also, if my memory serves me correctly, the wonderful snacks Evelyn had for us ~ Yummy!! The classes have served me well over the years and I am grateful for the time both Evelyn and Ed dedicated to 4-Her's.

Also, among my memories are the many potluck dinners at Dry Creek School and, again, if memory serves me well, Evelyn was always among the planners of these events. Another thing I remember was Home Department and I believe Evelyn was an active participant and my mom and I both missed those meetings so much when we moved to Auburn.

It is with sincere regret that I could not attend the funeral service for Evelyn but my husband and I are traveling along the Oregon Coast ~ running away from the Chico heat. It would have been so nice to be there and say a fond farewell to Evelyn and renew old friendships! My condolences to all Evelyn's family and friends.

Sending love and prayers,

Arlene (Lewis) Armes
