Alvin J. Clevenger age 83 of Fairborn passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 29, 2013. He was born the son of Alvin Merch & Ora Mae (Kirkpatrick) Clevenger on August 28, 1930 in Racket, West Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, and 5 brothers. Alvin is survived by his loving and devoted wife June (Boggs) Clevenger, daughters Vicki & Mike Lawrence of Fairborn, Tammy & Mickey Ison of Fairborn, and Renee Clevenger of Centerville, son Al “Butch” & Crystal Clevenger of Simpsonville, South Carolina, brothers Denzil & Eunice Clevenger, Elton & JoAnne Clevenger, grandchildren Michelle (John), Tiffany (John), Nickey (Cheryl), Emily (Chris), Bryce, and Cortney, great grandchildren Whitney (Michael), Aubree, Jase, Adam, Allison, Cessely, Clayton, Taylor and C.J. Alvin served his country and retired from the United States Air Force and spent 10 years in the Air Force Reserves serving in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Alvin was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the West Virginia Mountaineers football. Alvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and he will be missed by all who love him. Friends may call in the Burcham Jennings Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 6PM to 8PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 1PM at the funeral home with Pastor Lonnie Bocook, Pastor Jerry Siler, and Pastor Jerry Clevenger officiating.
