Marilyn A. LeMasters (Laird) born in Akron, Ohio on July 22, 1931, went home to Heaven to be with her beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 31st, 2021. She was a wonderful mother and a loving, giving, kind-hearted, fun-loving soul. She lived her entire life in Akron, except for the past 3 years she resided in Wadsworth at Wadsworth Pointe Nursing Home. She had a close bond with members of her graduating class of 1950, from Garfield High School and she helped organize most of their gatherings and reunions. She was a life member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and served the Lord in many capacities there, but especially as an artist, doing Christmas scenes, banners and posters. She retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber with 33 years of service, as a personal secretary and after for the Clerk of Courts. Art was her passion and she was an extremely gifted artist; painting murals, portraits, and her forte was her beautiful custom made greeting cards, which everyone loved to receive. Golf and bowling, were for many years, a big part of her life and she excelled at both. She will always be remembered for her smile, laughter, joyful spirit and zest for life and dancing. Her gift of giving compliments and always willing to lend a helping hand to people were her badges of honor. She will have many crowns in Heaven. I will miss my mother greatly, as she was the best mother and friend to me and we had many wonderful traditions and adventures together throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Laird of NY. She is survived by her daughter, Gail (nee LeMasters) Maimone and son-in-law, Frank Maimone of Cape Coral, FL, Sister-in-Law, Esther Laird of FL and niece, Becky Laird of AZ, sister-in-law, Irene Laird of NY, nieces Lisa Laird of NY and Kate Laird of California, brother-in-law, Earl LeMasters and sister-in-law, Betty LeMasters of Cuyahoga Falls, dearest cousin Susan Laird of Indian Lake, and many other dear nieces, nephews, cousins, many members of the Maimone family, and special friends of the family, Marcia Radosevic and her family.

Jamie and I had the pleasure of sharing a great lunch at Marilyn’s favorite restaurant from high school the Waterloo. We were amazed at the unbelievably beautiful cards that she made for birthdays and holidays. She was truly a remarkable woman who left behind many wonderful memories. The cards she made for my mother - Estelle Maimone - remain as some of my most prized possessions.
Rest In Peace my sweet, kind & talented
Friend.
Love the “other Marilyn”

Dear Gail
It’s been so long. I remember meeting you in kindergarten at Portage Path Elementary. I visited with you on Baluch St and Aster Ave. your mother was always so kind and sweet to me. I so enjoyed our visits. I remember your grandmother as well. I lost my precious mother in 2015.
Gail may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
With Sympathy

I very fondly remember Marilyn - always a smile and interested in what you were doing. I also remember her beautiful hand made cards. Last year in going through some of my mother's photos, I found one of those cards that my mother, Virginia, had saved. It was beautiful. I live in Florida also and would appreciate hearing from you.

My prayers and sympathies are with you and your family.

Marilyn and Gail were our neighbors for many, many years in Firestone Park. Marilyn also loved her kitty cats very much. I was one of the lucky ones that received her personalized, artistic cards through the years. I still have them. She was such a talented artist! Rest In Peace dear lady.

To Mom - we will miss beautiful loving you. Those sparkling blue eyes. Always smiling and laughing. Your zeal for life, perseverance when the going got tough, and your artistic talent was truly amazing to us all. You touched so many with your custom painted greeting cards, murals, banners, posters and much more. Most of all you touched so many with your loving kindness and helping those in need in various ways, serving the Lord with a cheerful heart, and always being a pleasure to be with. You were my partner on so many adventures, outings and lunches. From kayaking, to hiking, to assisting me at horse shows in my youth, and in recent years, many Yankee Peddler Festivals, county fairs, Lakeside Chataugua and Put-in-Bay for her birthdays, many lunches with friends and so many other countless great experiences and memories we will always cherish. The world has lost a very precious, giving, gracious, forgiving, loving soul, and gifted artist, but Heaven gained a 💛priceless saint! You are in our hearts forever and one day, we will join you at the Lord’s banquet in Heaven. We Love you Mom ❤️ And miss you greatly.
