Preceded in death by his son Craig Allen.
Walter is survived by his wife Donna; children Todd (Amy), Kerri (Kevin) Landsness, and Lisa (Richard) Millisor; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Walter graduated from Buchtel High and the University of Akron, where he was member of the Phi Tan Fraternity. He then served sacrificially in the Korean War for 2 years.
Walter began his 47 year career at the age of 14 as a stock boy at the FWAI Grocery co working his way up to Secretary of the Company and member of the company’s board of directors.
He volunteered his time and talents serving on the boards of the Better Business Bureau, Good Neighbors and Copley Kiwanis. He also volunteered at Summa for 19 years in retirement.
He enjoyed his family first, and foremost, listening to jazz music and enjoyed traveling and carpentry.
In lieu of flowers donations family suggest donations in Walter’s name to the Haven of Rest or Habitat for Humanity.
