Audrey Leah Fithen

Audrey L. Fithen, 90, of Granite City, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 13, 1931 in Sault St. Marie, MI to William and Alice (Merchant) McLaughlin. For 38 years, Audrey worked for William BeDell where she was the transportation supervisor and enjoyed her time with the children there. She loved traveling and participating in day trips, as well as playing BINGO and going to the casino. Audrey will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her children, Barbara Hayes, Patricia Fithen, William Fithen, Kathleen (Daniel) Crockett and Robert (Terry Weatherford) Fithen; grandchildren, Jonathan Hayes, Tyler (Amelia) Fithen, Rebakah Fithen, Daniel (Kristen) Crockett and Katelyn Crockett and great-grandchild, Rileigh Hayes. Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 44 years, William Fithen; son, Thomas Fithen; sisters, Shirley LaTour, Thelma Vance and Nadine McCormick. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 1:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with visitation from 11:00am until time of service. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to William BeDell Achievement and Resource Center.
