Carla Szablowski

Carla Jean Szablowski, 52, passed away at 8:15 am on Saturday June 9, 2018 at her home. She was born on June 14, 1965 in East St. Louis, the daughter of Aloysius and Lorraine (Kowalik) Szablowski. Carla had an Associates degree in business. She worked for Argrium in their human resource department. She always enjoyed spending time acting in Plays and shows, being very involved in Community Theater. She was an avid reader and classic movie buff. Carla also enjoyed spending time outside at parks and gardening in her flower beds. She is survived by her mother, Lorraine: five siblings Pamela (Pete) Rau of Redbud, IL, Debbie (Ralph) Sherman of St. Louis, MO, Denise Coffman of St. Louis, MO, Christine (Jim) Gray of Springfield, IL, and Paul (Patti) Szablowski of Dallas, TX; Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, Aloysius. Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded with a private inurnment at Lake View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

My deepest condolences to Mrs. Szablowski and her entire family. Carla was my oldest, dearest friend and I will always be grateful for sweet childhood and adulthood experiences. It's a shame that she passed away so close to her 53rd birthday! I will always remember June 14th as Carla's Day as well as Flag Day!

It was shocking to hear about Carla's passing. I have fond memories of sleepovers and playing at her house, she was so much fun to be around. She and her family were so kind and generous to me when I was younger. Please accept my deepest condolences. I will be praying for peace and comfort for you all during this difficult time. ❤️

I am saddened to read of the passing of Carla. I very vividly remember Debbie and Denise laying in the back yard sunning while 2 year old Carla ran in the yard laughing and bouncing around. She was full of so much energy. I know you will miss her very much. Our condolences to your family.
