Dennis Dean Thiedig, Retired U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sergeant, 74, of Belleville, Illinois was born on September 17, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan. Dennis passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.
Dennis was a Vietnam War veteran who retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. Later, he retired from the Small Business Administration with 17 years of service.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Kim (Hayden), whom he married February 16, 2002. He has four sons Rick Thiedig of Los Angeles, California, Gary (Brenda) Thiedig of St. Charles, Missouri, David Thiedig of Denver, Colorado, and Christopher (Racheal) Thiedig of Allen, Texas.
Dennis had many roles in his life, but his favorite was his role as “Pappy” to his four grandchildren, Melinda, Tatum, Rollins and Miles.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, George & Lois (Johnson) Cowgur, his brothers Ronald Thiedig and George “Buck” Cowgur.
Dennis was a devoted husband, father and grandfather as well as a loyal friend. He will be greatly missed by all.
