Adelina Cantu entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 15, 2024 at a hospital in Laredo, Texas at the age of 70, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 22, 1953 to Alonso Rodriguez and Evangelina De Leon Rodriguez in Rosenberg, Texas.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Adelina enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Rosa Rodriguez; brother, Arnulfo Rodriguez; father-in-law, Nicasio Cantu; uncle, Ramiro Rodriguez and brother-in-law, Adalberto (Mele) Alaniz.
Adelina leaves behind many precious memories that will be treasured by her husband of 51 years, Rosendo Cantu of Hebbronville, Texas; sons, Marcos (Letty) Cantu of San Antonio, Texas, Michael (Olivia) Cantu of Hebbronville and Manny (Mercedes) Cantu of Laredo; siblings, Letty Rodriguez, Esmeralda (Valentin) Ruiz, Alonzo (Elizabeth) Rodriguez, Jr., Martin Rodriguez and Eziquel Rodriguez; granddaughters that were raised like daughters, Odalys and Mireya Cantu; grandsons, Cristian Cantu, Myles Cantu and Mason Cantu; step-grandchildren, Daniel (Delisa) Lopez, Monica Lopez, Clarissa (Nate) Collard, Briana Cavazos, and Aaron Cavazos; numerous step-great-grandchildren; special aunt, Delia Rodriguez and many extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Daniel O. Lopez, Jr., Angel Rodriguez, Esteban Rodriguez, John Allen Santos, Jared Santos and Arnulfo Rodriguez. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Odalys Cantu, Mireya Cantu, Cristian Cantu, Myles Cantu and Mason Cantu.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville with Visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024 at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville and Burial will follow at the Greenhill Cemetery.
