Dorothy A. Soares, “Dotty,” age 71, of Taunton, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Antone and Florence (Bishop) Soares.
A graduate of B.M.C. Dufee High School, she received a certificate in Cosmetology from the Rob Roy Academy. She worked as a hairdresser and at TJX Companies for many years.
Quite talented, she enjoyed sewing and made beautiful quilts and aprons. She loved spending time with her family and her late companion and dog “Hooch.”
She is survived by one son, Richard Correia and his wife Sharon of Berkley; one brother, Tony Soares and his husband Stephen Larrett of Randolf, one sister, Theresa Freitas of CT; two grandchildren, Sara Correia and Shaun Correia and his fiancé Haley Pichette; three great grandchildren, Olivah, Luna and Lilly; two nephews Jason Soares and his wife Ashley, Ronald Soares; one niece, Pauline Soares and one great niece.
Her visitation will be held on Friday, September6, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Her burial will be private. For tributes and directions: www.waring-sullivan.com
