Jose was born in Tanza, Cavite, Philippines to Jose Montilla Malazo Sr. and Matea Pulido Arcusa Malazo on May 9, 1934. He went to school in Tanza, Cavite. He married Concepcion Diamitas del Mundo on November 12, 1960 in Rosario, Batangas, Philippines. He graduated from Far Eastern University, Bachelor of Law, in Manila, Philippines.
In addition to his day job in various clerical accounting roles for different companies, Jose also held many part-time jobs to support his family. These part-time jobs consisted of retail and customer service gigs at Hechts, Lord & Taylor, Kohls, and United Airlines. Jose was always working, and these extra jobs were well-suited to his helpful and friendly demeanor. We would always hear from friends, “Hey, I just saw your dad working at… He’s so nice.”
He was involved in the Knights of Columbus Council #7369 and a 3rd Degree Knight at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Chantilly, VA and also served as an usher at previous parishes the family attended.
Jose is preceded in death by both his parents, Jose Sr. and Matea, and his two sisters, Maximina Valenzuela and Consuelo Untalan.
Jose is survived by his wife, Concepcion, his three children Joe, Joven, and JoAnn, and seven grandchildren Jakob, Jacqueline, Joseph, Joshua, Jana, Edward, and Thomas.
Visitation will be 4 pm - 8 pm Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at National Funeral Home with a Novena Prayer at 7:30 pm.
Funeral services will be held 10am - noon Thursday June 23, 2022 at National Funeral Home with the Fr Sunny Joseph of St. Timothy officiating. Burial will follow at National Memorial Park. Arrangements are by National Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA.
