December 8, 1944 – August 3, 2019
Dr. Nosrat Ali Alidoost was born on December 8, 1944 in Khoy, Iran. He was born to Bashir and Rakshandeh where he was one of seven brothers and sisters. Nosrat had a thirst for knowledge as a young boy. This passion took him to the University of Tehran. Over these next few years Nosrat obtained his MD and more importantly met the love of his life, Monia Talfighi. Monia was training in the same hospital as a registered nurse. Nosrat and Monia got married in 1973. Their first child, Moona, was born in Ahwaz, Iran in 1974. They raised their daughter surrounded by countless family members and loving friends. As a couple they loved traveling and hosting parties. The family moved to Ireland in 1978 after Nosrat accepted a residency position there. A year after their son Pasha was born. The family would ultimately settle down in the United States in 1984.
Nosrat had an amazing amount of love for his family and friends. It was this love that kept his family close together during these two relocations. As a father, Nosrat cared and protected his kids with everything he had. He worked long hours to create financial security for his family. But more importantly, he was a father that his children could speak to about anything. His soothing presence built a secure environment for his family.
Nosrat was a remarkable physician. He provided amazing care for his patients across three continents. His empathy and knowledge was unmatched. Through the years a countless number of his patients remained in contact with him. In addition, Nosrat mentored numerous physicians who learned under his tutelage.
He is survived by his wife (Monia), two children (Moona and Pasha), two grandchildren (Sanaz and Leela), son-in-law (Vikesh), two brothers, and three sisters. Despite his passing, his legacy remains. His love for life and learning will continue to be passed down with each generation.
