Daleena Janeen Castillo
May 7, 1981 – April 30, 2020
Our beloved Daleena Castillo (Culhane), of Clio, went home peacefully on April 30th, 2020. She was 38 years young. She is survived by her husband Adam Castillo of 14 years, children Robert, Aleena, Cruz, Eva and Grayson. She was the greatest mother and devoted her entire life to her children. She adored them and lived for them.
Daleena, was born on May 07, 1981 to Deborah Culhane and the late Douglas Culhane. She graduated from Clio High School in 2000. She graduated cosmetology school after graduating high school. Daleena was homemaker and fulltime mother. Daleena loved tattoos, taking pictures, listening to music, exercising, and being a collector of many precious items, she loved trips to the lake, and was never prouder than to watch her children on the sports field or on the wrestling mat.
Daleena radiated. She was the most beautiful woman in any room not just on the outside but in the inside. She was beyond kind, empathetic, intelligent, witty, vivacious, funny, sweet, beyond loving and the most giving person and greatest person you could ever meet. She was a fighter. The toughest person that we’ve ever known. She endured so much but never let it take the smile off her face or change how sweetly she treated others. She always led with her heart and was the most thoughtful human being.
She leaves behind mother Deborah Culhane; sisters: Darlene Canterbury (husband Matt), Danielle Bennett (husband Ricky) brothers: Douglas Culhane II, Dustin Culhane (wife Chelsea) and sister Darci Pickett. She had 14 nieces and nephews who cherished her dearly.
Daleena is now reunited with her daughter Florentina and beloved Father Douglas, her “bestie”.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Flint Memorial Park.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers, especially Grayson and Eva, your beautiful children that I had the pleasure to know and the honor to teach at Garner Elementary. Stay strong and may the peace of our Lord Jesus be with you and your family during this difficult time. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know Mrs. Castillo. I am new teacher to Clio schools this year. I do know what it is like for children to lose a mother at a young age, and a husband to lose a wife. My second cousins, Josie and Lucy, lost their mother, Joanna to Leukemia, when they were just 9 and 4 years old. My first cousin, Joanna, was only 40 years old when she passed, and was a very dedicated mother, and very beautiful, like that of Mrs. Castillo. Their father and my mother helped to raise the both of them, and in turn, these girls have become two of the finest and strongest girls anyone could ever know. Although we don't always know why things happen, in time, I believe we find out there is a greater purpose and reason for everything. I have no doubt that Mrs. Castillo, like my cousin, is singing among the angels, watching over their biggest fans, and waiting to welcome love ones when it is their time to come home.
