We, PHCM Class 1978 especially Section - C Nurses were profoundly saddened beyond words at the tragic death of Imelda. She had an immense positive impact on us when she pursued her studies into a higher level of medical arena. She’s the author of 2018 Examining Nurse Satisfaction with a Bedside Handout Report Process where she completed her PhD degree few years ago. With passion in achieving her set goals, Imelda had earned degrees/certifications as follows: DNP(c), RN, CPAN, CCRN, ASLNC- C, PhD……
On a personal level, we will miss Imelda terribly. She is a wonderful mother to her 2 daughters and a loving wife to her husband where she laid a strong foundation for them. She had changed the dynamics where ever she was, with her tremendous accomplishments, dedication, commitment, warmth and intelligence. We mourn her greatly. Imelda was a person who combined incredible achievements with great personal grace. Imelda’s life is a blessing, her memory’s a treasure, she’s well loved by all of us beyond words and missed beyond measure. She is gone home now, guided by her faith and by the light of those she has loved and lost. At this final moment, she left us grieving, with the memories she gave, the goodness she did, the dream she kept alive, and a single, enduring image. We will always feel cheated that you were taken from us so early and young, and yet we must learn to be grateful that you came along to our respective lives. Farewell our dear friend/classmate. Eternal rest be yours….

I will always remember your mother and wife. She was a pleasant beautiful caring person. No one can take her place on C level. She was a big part of our hospital. I knew her for Ten years. Always knew your name when she saw you. She would help you with you goals or anything else you needed her advice for. She was a big part of our institution. Maybe even the foundation. My deepest condolences and sympathy for your loss. God has a very special angel with him now. Love you Imelda. Hugs and kisses. James W Staffer.

I am extremely sorry and distressed for your loss. I have know Imelda over 15 years. She was my colleague, teacher, mentor, and friend. Her works lives on as she leaves behind a legacy of thousands of nurses that she has trained, that resulted in their care of tens of thousand patients. She always lived for others, kind, thoughtful, and caring. Below is a few pictures, she has given us all so much!

Death leaves us Heartache that no-one can Heal, but
Love leaves us Memories that no-one can Steal.

Those we love never go away, they walk besides us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.

My deepest sympathy,

Just like all the rest, I am in disbelief, sadden and in shock for Imelda's passing.
I will never forget what an impact she had on me as a new hired RN way back in 2012 and continued to nurture, support and guide me just like the hundreds of nurses and nursing students that were under her mentorship. she was the draw.
For Imelda, anyone is valued and important, she has a patience of a Buddhist monk and trained hard those nurses who struggle on their jobs by believing in them until they succeed, she sees each and everyone as an assest a worth for investment. She was a visionary.
As, a nurse educator, she makes learning fun, exciting and easy with her with and humor her class was never boring. She was natural born teacher.
As a nurse leader, she is fair, humane and emphatic which are important leadership skills needed today.
As a person, she is 'Imeldific' of simplicity and of kindness a 'BFF' you would like to have.
Imelda,I will miss your jokes and most of all your distinct voice whenever you see me and ask ' Flores how are you today? ''
Thank you Imelda for all your kindnest and thank you for all the times you took the time. I hope you like the red roses I placed infront of your office door the day you left us all. It was hard for me.
Rest in peace in the Lord's hand! You are now 'MADE FOR HEAVEN' and be greatly missed.

Imelda was such an amazing teacher and mentor. She taught me everything I know. She touched so many of us and is a true modern day Florence Nightingale due to her high standards, knowledge, and legacy she brought to NYULOH. I will miss her humor, jokes, and witty personality. I will cherish the sparse moments I had with you. RIP my friend. Until we meet again.
