It is with great sadness that the family of Rosie Snowball announce her passing on Thursday October 29, 2020 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital.
Rosie was born on January 27, 1951 in Fort Frances, ON to the late Rennie and Agnes Councillor. She lived in Naicatchewenin First Nation all her life, working for Young Star, at the Band Office over the years. Rosie enjoyed playing Bingo and taking trips to the Casino as well as attending Powwows, jingle dancing and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband Allan Snowball Sr.; parents Rennie and Agnes Councillor; siblings Randy, George, Garnet, Clarence and Larry Councillor and granddaughters Alisha and Alissa.
Rosie leaves behind her children Joanne Councillor, Allan Snowball Jr. (Kathy), Alana Snowball (Joel) and Ernie Snowball (Jara); grandchildren Matthew, Lucy, Joey and Jeremy Snowball, Raiden and Kaylee Snowball and Reeva and Dustin Chiefson as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her friends Susan and Tracy Councillor.
A visitation was held on Friday November 1, 2020 at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, ON.
A traditional funeral ceremony was held on Monday, November 2, 2020 at the Naicathewenin First Nation Community Centre. Interment took place in the Naicathewenin First Nation Cemetery,
The pallbearers were Darren Smith, Bob Morrison, Don Smith, George Councillor, Nathaniel Councillor, Delano Black, Trevor Smith and Gary Smith.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Chief and Council of Naicatchewenin First Nation and Jason Teeple and Company.
