on the island of Jamaica on February 2, 1933. She was a trained seamstress
and expert dressmaker. She married Ethelbert Gallimore on October 25, 1955,
and they had seven children. She was a licensed practical nurse who
worked in several hospitals and nursing homes for over 30 years.
She was also an ordained minister who pastored the Oneness Apostolic
Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for 20 years.
Pastor Gallimore was the heart of her family and the church.
She was a prayer warrior and no-nonsense preacher who had her own
radio program to spread the gospel in south Florida. She was tiny
but mighty and you could always spot her in a crowd wearing one
of her brightly colored suits and signature church hats.
She cooked amazing foods and made great expressive faces when
she told you things as they were. Her best facial expressions came
from eagerly opening Christmas and birthday cards to see how much
cash they contained. But she cared about what mattered most, God,
her family, and the church. Her parishioners looked forward to
the Sunday prayer line that Mother Gallimore, as they called her,
held to invoke God’s healing and blessings on them. She covered her own
family with daily prayers and knitted blankets for each child and grandchild.
After she retired from pastoring, she continued to pray for her church
members who called her regularly on the cell phone line. The rest of her
time was taken up with her daily wordsearch and crossword puzzles
that she insisted on completing religiously to keep her mind sharp.
