John was an incredible man wonderful friend and a fantastic Commander. I am truly glad I was able to get to know him. Funny , laid back and easy to talk to. He was inspirational and insightful as Commander his leadership guided the members of AMVETS with integrity honesty. He once told me he was just an ordinary guy. Nothing could be further from the truth. He was a great friend, Inspirational leader I will always Remember him for kindness and compassion towards others.
