Barrett was born in Trenton NJ, and grew up in Washington Crossing, PA. Barrett moved to Sanibel with his wife, Dayna Narenkivicius Anding, and his daughter Jacqueline Shea Anding in 2009. He is survived by his wife and daughter, and also by his parents, Joseph D. and Leslie Paine Anding of Sanibel, and his sister Devan Anding Norris of Port Orange, FL.
Barrett graduated high school from St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia, and went on to become a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Barrett was a chef and restaurant manager. He was a beloved member of the restaurant communities on both Sanibel Island and on Fire Island in New York, and was most recently working at the Sundial Resort on Sanibel.
Memorial services for Barrett will be held this Saturday, October 12th at 11am at St. Isabel Catholic Church, 3559 Sanibel-Captiva Road, Sanibel, FL 33957, 239-472-2763.
