Marjorie A. Hebden
February 17, 1931 – September 6, 2018
Marjorie Ann Hebden died September 6, 2018. Born in 1931, she grew up in Columbus, Ohio. Margie attended Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, graduating in 1952. She worked at Ohio State University Hospital as a labor and delivery nurse. Married in 1954 to Carl Schilbe, she turned her nursing skills to her family, raising three girls on her own after Carl was killed in a car accident in 1966. She remarried in 1970 to Ed Hebden and together they built a life full of family, friends, Bridge games and travel.
They moved to Ft. Myers in 1980 to be near Margie's parents. Once again, they joined several Bridge Clubs, and enjoyed entertaining friends and family who came to SW Florida to vacation with them. One of her favorite pastimes was feeding the squirrels in her yard.
Margie was preceded in death by Ed in 2005. She is survived by three daughters: Karen Stewart, Kathy Lesser, and Patricia Schilbe; one Step-Son, Gary Hebden and his wife Patty; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; best friends Jackie and Frank Lane; and her beloved cats (Fred and Ginger).
A memorial service will be held on Thursday September 20 at 11:00 am at the Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park.
The Gulf Coast Animal Shelter was a cause close to Marjorie's heart if friends wish to donate in her name.
