MaryAnn was 75 years old when she passed away on June 6, 2019. She was with her husband, Joe, when she passed. Graduating from Eastern District High School in Brooklyn, New York, she was a mother of three who raised her children in the city she always called home. As her kids were being brought up, she maintained a close relationship to god. She was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel church in Brooklyn where she met some of her closest friends. Throughout her life, she worked and later owned Ludwig Industries, an industrial manufacturer based in New York.
Across her three children, she has three granddaughters and four grandsons, all of which called her traditionally “grandma.” When she retired, she moved to the Poconos before desiring something warmer which she found in Florida. Although her kids and grandkids live in various towns in the northeast, she was the matriarch of a family who needed a strong woman like her to keep them together.
Throughout her entire life, her favorite movie has always been The Wizard of Oz. Spending one second in her house, you will find items ranging from wall plaques to statuettes showing this adoration. She had a passion for knitting, crocheting, and eventually quilting. She made prayer shawls for in-patients suffering at the local hospital. Grandma had a large heart — both literally and metaphorically. Her cardiomegaly was a symbol of the love that she radiated onto anyone who she befriended. She will always be remembered as a woman who did nothing but love everyone around her. She is survived by her husband, her three children, her two step-sons, and her seven grandchildren. She will be missed by all, and her memory will last infinitely. Local services will be held in the community she lived in before she passed, including mostly family and her closest friends.
