Berton J. Sterling, Jr., 94, passed away on Friday, January 8th, 2021 at home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on September 4th, 1926, in Fort Wayne. He was the son of the late Berton J. Sterling, Sr and Nettie M. Sterling. He graduated from Central High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Army in Alaska. He retired from the International Harvester after 31 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne. He was a member of Eastern Star Trinity Chapter #576 and Summit City Lodge No. 170. He was a 70 year member and Past Master. He was a 56 year member of the Scottish Rite. He enjoyed his family, travel, summers at Shriner Lake, and boating. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella M. Sterling.

He is survived by two daughters Stacy (Steven) Duray of Rolling Meadows Illinois and Trudy (Raymond) Buffenbarger of Huntington, Indiana. Five grandchildren: Demetria Duray; Zachary Duray; and Tiffanie Duray all of Rolling Meadows, Illinois; Kevin Chlebik of Minnesota and Kenneth (Sara) Chlebik of Thompson, North Dakota. Two great grandsons: Collin Ruszkowski and David Chlebik.

Private service will be 10 am Monday January 18, 2021 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home 1140 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne IN. Please join the family for a virtual service at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Facebook Page. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Sunday January 17, 2021 with an Eastern Star service at 7pm and a Masonic service at 7:30pm.
