Doris attended Hamilton High School in Ohio, where she met two of her dearest friends, Patricia Wood and Marilyn Busscher. Doris married Frank Prater on March 20, 1953. She worked as a corporate secretary with Ohio Casualty Insurance, and then was a homemaker for many years. She leaves behind her a legacy of hospitality and service. Doris was a member of Calvary Temple Worship Center, where she faithfully taught Sunday School for 40 years, and where she also played piano for the five-year-old class. She loved her family and church and enjoyed cooking, sunny afternoons, blue birds, Honey Nut Cheerios, McDonald’s double cheese burgers (NO PICKLES!) & fries, Nutter Butter Cookies, Vanilla Oreos, Coney dogs & root beer floats, Chick Fil-A sandwich & lemonade, watching her favorite television shows, Regal Cinema movie recliners (for napping through the movie!), and singing gospel music. She was also committed to faithfully praying for her family and friends—a real prayer warrior. She is survived by her daughters, Deb (Scott) Mills, and Tonya (John) Chernesky; and grandchildren, Tyler Chernesky and Cora (Brian) Rowe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Prater.
