Eugene F. Curran, 74, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born in Chicago, IL, Eugene worked as a Senior Claim Consultant with GE Medical Protective Company for 30 years, retiring in 2007. He served his country as a member of the US Army. Eugene was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he sang in the church choir and served in the youth ministry. He was also a member of American Legion Post #47, D.A.V., Elks Post #155, the Chicago Gaelic Park, he was Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny to Walden Community Association since 1979, and volunteered for Northeast Indiana Radio Reading and Real Men Read. Eugene was an avid golfer, and a dedicated Bears and Cubs fan. He will be remembered as the most caring, wise, loving, fun and generous man to his family and friends. Eugene will be missed by anyone who knew him. Surviving are his wife, Carol Curran of Fort Wayne; son, Kevin (Kathy) Curran of Mokena, IL; daughters, Jennifer (Jose) Rubalcada of Fort Wayne, and Melissa (David Richards) Kandel of Wake Forest, NC; and 14 grandchildren. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Della Curran; and his brother, Dan Curran. Mass of Christian Resurrection is 2:00 pm, Saturday December 9, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with calling one hour prior. Calling also at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a Rosary service at 3:30 pm.
