John Josef Rasor, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019, at Woodview Assisted Living. Born in March of 1932 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Emmett and Cecil (Blank) Rasor. A graduate of Central High School, class of 1950, John furthered his education at IPFW. John proudly served in the U.S. Army for three years during the Korean War Era. He was employed with General Electric for nine years, International Harvester for 25 years, from which he retired, and Sears for 10 years. John was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing softball, both in his youth and senior years; and, playing cards. He is survived by his daughters, Nancy (Jeff) Pickering of Jacksonville, FL, Colleen (John) Murray of Fort Wayne, Mary (Malcolm “Mick”) Jackson of Noblesville, IN, Arlene Hissong of Fort Wayne, and Lois (David Dickinson) Rasor of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Sarah (Robert) Menefee of Fort Wayne; and former spouse and mother of his children, Martha Rasor of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Regina Siso and Barbara Helmick; and brothers, Emmett “Art” Rasor, David Rasor, and Kenneth “Skip” Rasor. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Richard Hartman officiating. Calling will also be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the funeral home.
