Clellie Inez Duffel Colling passed away Feb. 27, 2021 at the age of 98. She was born to Vessa Bratton Duffel and Wallace Thomas Duffel on June 2, 1922 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. She grew up in Oklahoma and lived briefly in California. Moving back to Fort Worth, Texas, she worked in the offices of a local department store. She met and married George W Colling in 1951.
A lover of young children, Clellie took training and was certified in Montessori education. She spent many happy years teaching at Montessori Children's House in Fort Worth. Clellie and George were active members of Southside Advent Christian Church and then Riverside Advent Christian Church where she played a major role in the women's group. Clellie also was a member of Beta Sigma Phi business sorority and volunteered in the gift shop at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History for many years. Bridge, Mexican Train dominos and Farkle were favorite pastimes with many good friends. Clellie also enjoyed traveling and visited China, Russia, Europe and Hawaii.
Clellie was preceded in death by her husband George and a stepson Michael. She is survived by cousins and extended "family" members Virginia Bradfield, Mary Deal, Joe, Robert and Jimmy Riddell, David Bradfield, and Nancy Barnhill along with their families. Special gratitude is extended to Diana Huckaby with Stonegate Nursing Center. Graveside service will be held Monday, March 8 at 10:00am at Laurel Land Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth.
