I'll always remember the weekend visits to the Broyles. I had some great times with Larry and his brothers. Edith had her hands full with us going up/down stairs bugging Judy and Wanda, plus all of our antics around the house.
I remember one meal there that was wild duck. I don't recall if J.B. got it or my dad but I'll never forget the taste of that bird. I knew I'd never eat duck again after that meal.
All of the other meals were always delicious!
She was a great and gracious woman to my mom.

Edith shared several plants with me and today I'm taking a sample to her daughter. Through the years she brought me starts for aloe vera, irises and a hearty green plant that thrives in Texas heat. She was a faithful friend to our family and everytime I saw her at the Hurst Senior Center she asked, "How are your children?" and I was happy to show her photos of our children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a sweet, gentle soul.

Edith was a treasured member of our Hurst Senior Activities Center for many years. Her daughter, Judy, brought her to so many different activities. Edith especially loved to ride the exercise bike and play Bingo! She will be missed by all of us here at the Center. She was one of the kindest, sweetest people you could ever hope to meet. Rest in peace, sweet Edith.
