Hertha Helen Gilbert

June 29, 1945November 2, 2019

Helen was born, the only child, on June 29, 1945 to J.T. and Hertha (“Tommie”) Gilbert, in Fort Worth, TX. She went to school in the FT Worth Independent School District and graduated from Paschal High School in 1963.

Helen went to work straight out of high school at Winn-Dixie and had many jobs around the area. She retired from Crown Logistics in Dallas.

She was preceded by her Dad, J.T. and her Mother, Hertha (Tommie). She has a few surviving cousins, as well as some second and third cousins, in the area, from the Metroplex to Comanche, TX. Helen was a lifelong resident of Fort Worth where she had attended school and church. She loved long-porch sittin’ conversation. She enjoyed camping and fishing with friends and family. She was an avid prayer warrior when someone needed a prayer.

She will be sorely missed by Kay, Tom, Lucky, Anjie, Chris and Barbara. Helen passed away on Nov. 2, 2019 at Baylor Hospital in Fort Worth.

I loved Helen! She had the biggest laugh and heart! She always told me she “had my back” when we frequented strange or places new to me. That was such a secure feeling! Helen loved the Lord and His people. We had the honor of worshipping and serving together. Thank you, Helen for being there when I needed you the most!

Helen had a wonderful smile, gave a hug to get a hug, and was always willing to give a hand when work needed to be done.
She blessed us all with her presence.
