Roberta Hortense Coffman Johanson, 93, ascended from this earth on April 24, 2020, in Grapevine, Texas. She was born to the late Robert and Maudina Coffman on November 12, 1926 in Bridgeport, Texas. Following high school, Roberta married her sweetheart and World War II veteran, Arthur Johanson, Jr. (Art), whom she met at the Arthur Murray School of Dance in Fort Worth where she gave him dance lessons. It was love at first sight and after only three weeks of dating they married and moved to Chicago so Art could attend the prestigious American Academy of Fine Art. Following his graduation, they returned to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and founded Johanson & Associates where they built a thriving advertising art agency. They were devoted Christians and raised their four children in the Baptist church. Art preceded her in death by 29 years. Roberta was awarded a full college scholarship which she chose not to use because she wanted to support her husband in his pursuit of becoming a fine artist specializing in western art. She never lost her love for dancing and taught her children many of the various dance steps of her era. She was a stay-at-home mom while her children were growing up and later became a private secretary in the banking industry and ultimately a legal secretary for several attorneys. Roberta and her husband were very active in church, working with GA‘s and RA’s and personally paying for those young girls and boys to fly between Dallas and Fort Worth on a plane, a very unique experience at that time. After her husband’s death she joined First Baptist Church of White Settlement. There she continued her life mission of helping others. She organized a church group for parents of felons to help each of them cope with their individual devastating experiences and ongoing stress. She took older members of her church to Dallas to get them dentures or dental work at her expense so they could have beautiful teeth. She also visited members of her church who were in nursing homes and remained a faithful member of First Baptist Church of White Settlement until her demise. In addition, she contributed to a number of charitable organizations. She was a lovely woman who put everyone else first and won the hearts of workers and residents at the nursing home where she resided for the last three years of her life. She will be missed by so many wonderful friends and loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sisters, JoAnn Able and her husband Roy, and Patsy Waits and her husband Arthur. She is survived by her oldest son, Craig Johanson and his wife Linda and their daughter, Tanya Johanson and their son, Erik Johanson and his wife Janette, including their 3 children Ryan, Reese and Rayne.

She is also survived by her oldest daughter, Karen Bibby and her husband Russell and their son, Joel Fuller and his son Aydan; and their son Scott Fuller and his wife Mandie and their children Kade Jayse and Ty.

She is also survived by her youngest daughter Barbara Barnes (husband Rick, deceased) and her sons, Nathan Hrabal and Wesley Hrabal and his wife Pam.

She is also survived by her youngest son Richard Johanson (wife Sylvia, deceased) and his daughter Elizabeth Johanson, including her 5 children; his son Andrew Johanson (wife Britiney, deceased); his daughter Rebecca (Johanson) Reich and her husband Greg, including their 3 daughters; his son Jacob Johanson and his wife Beulah including their daughter; and his son Benjamin Johanson and his wife Kelly, including their son.

Ultimately, Roberta departed this world with 4 loving children, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, along with many cherished friends. Private committal services will be held at Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park. A public Celebration of Life may be held at a later date.

Mom, you are love personified and have touched the hearts of all those with whom you have come in contact. You have demonstrated your faith and brought so many into God's fold. You have a giving spirit that has been demonstrated throughout your entire life, helping people in need and giving to so many Christian charities when you were unable to physically continue with your charitable efforts in person. I am so proud to be your daughter. I can only hope that I can share the same kind of love you have exuded to others with those I know and meet in the coming days. I know you are looking down on us and are watching over us even as you prayed for us while you were with us here on earth. I know you are wearing a crown of many jewels and standing beside Him in heaven as His faithful servant. I am so proud of the life you have lived setting a wonderful example of God's love and grace. I will miss you but I know we will be reunited and I look forward to the time you and dad reach out to me to bring me home. I have depended on you more than you can possibly know but I feel your spirit here with me today as I have felt's dad spirit for almost 30 years. What wonderful parents you have been to us throughout your life. I will always cherish the memories of our life together.

Your adoring daughter, with love from Karen and my husband Russell and sons Joel and Scott Fuller

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Our Sweet Precious Gma Berta,

You are one of a kind, one in a million and hold a very special place in our heart. Scott, our boys and I will forever miss you and we are more than honored to call you our Gma Berta. The privilege we have had to be by your side all these years is unforgettable. The time we had with each other will always be part of us and we'll never forget those moments. The laughter, joy and happiness you brought to not only us, but others in this world will forever be remembered. You have always put others first and this mentality has been carried downstream within your family roots, I promise. We will always live by the values that you and Gpa Art instilled within us and the others that you have touched within your life. You are now in a very special place that you have waited so long for, to be with your amazing husband. The two of you will now be forever together. He has waited so long to see you and we all know that you will be comforted at all times as you oversee our lives from above. We will see you soon and always know that you will always be in our heart.

For the last time and until we meet again...

See you later Alligator!
( We will always be your Crocodile)

With all our love,
Mandie, Scott, Kade, Jayse and Ty

There are people who come into your life who quickly attach to your heartstrings and never let go not that you ever would want them to as they become as important as breathing.
Roberta was such a person to me. Roberta and Art both were unfailing kind caring sweet people they raised four incredible children Craig, Karen, Barbara and Rick
I have been fortunate to have known them since the middle 1950’s and it has been a blessing in so many, many ways to have known this family to introduce my girlfriend now wife and daughter to them and see how they folded both into a circle of love

We will miss her dearly but will always hold her in our hearts

By HIS grace in love
Wayne, Sandy and Angela Johnson
