Royce was born in Fort Worth, Texas on October 17, 1930 to Royce and Hazel Benson. Devotion was not something that Royce " Benny" Benson practiced once a week, but daily. He danced in step with his wife, Corkey, through thick and thin. Whether waking up at the crack of dawn to fish or staying up late to dance the night away, they were inseparable for 59 years. His devotion was also evident in his friendships with his fellow employees during his time at General Dynamics as an illustrator and supervisor, for 42 years. While he had an eye for art, he had a heart for TCU football. As a kid, he cheered on the Frogs from his Dad's lap and later rooted them on with his own kids and grandkids, all the way to the Rose Bowl. His desire for a good game could only be matched by his desire to learn more about the world around him and the universe beyond. Though he called Fort Worth home his whole life, his soul soared far beyond. He was an inspiration to us all.
Royce is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years. Eunice " Corkey" Benson.
