My condolences to Patty, Betty, and Mrs. Hazlett's extended family. Despite my giving her much grief due to my lack of interest in nouns, verbs, and where commas should be placed, she always encouraged me to work to my potential. I know she inspired many during her long life.

Having Mrs. Hazlett as an English teacher was very enjoyable. More importantly, several years after high school graduation, she became a close friend of my late mother. My condolences to her family.

I remember Mrs. Hazlett as one of my English teachers at D.A. She encouraged me in my writing and because of her I have been a newspaper reporter for more than 30 years, a job I have truly loved. My condolences to her family, but know that she touched my life a long time ago.
