Karen was an immensely talented seamstress and artist. She was the creator and owner operator of Karens Kottage, where she hand-made custom fabric dolls for children for many years. One of her dolls was featured in the movie "Gone Baby Gone" as well as on the popular website Parents.com. One of Karen's greatest achievements was creating a "like disability" version of a doll for children who were suffering from life-altering disabilities and/or diseases.

Karen was also an avid lover of animals. Karen loved oil painting mountain scenes, candle making, and taking long country drives. Karen enjoyed living in the beauty of Northern Michigan with her late husband John for the last 15 years.

A private memorial is planned in October, where her cremated remains will be returned to Michigan and a memorial bench will be placed next to her parent's grave at the Sunset View Cemetery in Jonesville, MI.

In lieu of flowers or cards, donations may be made in Karen's name to the American Cancer Society @ https://www.cancer.org/involved/donate/memorial-giving.html

Karen, I will miss you so very much. You certainly fought a long and difficult battle! Who knew you had that toughness in you. . .

Unfortunately, most of my memories of you are ones of your childhood. What a sweet, quiet little girl you were. I loved when you would come to visit me when we lived in Fredericksburg and
you would stay a few days, along with your sisters.

My prayers are for peace for you following the struggle you went through. We'll see you again some day. Love you, Kay

Mom-I have countless wonderful memories of you! Some of my favorites are the times that you and John would come visit us and we would spend the day talking about life and everything else, just hanging out. I would always plan a special meal to cook for you both, which you always praised. We enjoyed just spending those times with you. Those memories, with so many more, are priceless and I'll hold dear for the rest of my life. I will miss those times just talking to you! Love you always, Jess
